Kauai is proud of our many surfing legends, from Titus Nihi Kinimaka, Danny Fuller, Bruce and Andy Irons, Sion Milosky, Kamalei and Kala Alexander, Rick Hurst, Laird Hamilton, Bill Hamilton and countless other chargers that rip everyday.
Kauai is home to many amazing top female surfers that grew up on the island perfecting their surfing skills such as Keala Kennelly, Margo Oberg, Leila Hurst, Sanoe Lake and Rochelle Ballard. We are inspired by young shredders like Tatiana Weston-Webb and Brianna Cope. We are stoked to be represented by awesome women like Alana Blanchard and Bethany Hamilton. Bethany lost her left arm in a shark attack in 2003 but her fighting spirit keeps her competing in professional surfing.
Malia Manuel was the youngest surfer ever to win the US Open of Surfing in 2008 when she was only 14. She continues to dominate on the WSL Womens CT along with Kauai native Tatiana Weston-Webb.
These great surfers inspire the local surf groms at PK’s, like these south shore salty girls:
